The Springfield Armory M1A Tanker is a compact semi-automatic rifle in .308 Win with a 16.25-inch carbon steel barrel, a 10+1 capacity and an overall length of 37.25 inches. It weighs 8.75 pounds and has a stained walnut stock, a blue and black finish and a manual safety. The sight setup is an XS tritium front sight with a ghost ring rear aperture, plus an adjustable rear sight for elevation and windage corrections.

The shorter 16.25-inch barrel makes the M1A Tanker easier to handle than a full-length M14-pattern rifle, and the walnut stock adds a traditional look. The semi-automatic action keeps follow-up shots quick at the range or in the field. One magazine is included, so a second magazine is worth having for longer sessions.
