The Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag Tactical Turkey is a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun with a 20-inch overbored vent-rib barrel, a 3 1/2-inch chamber and a 5+1 capacity. It weighs 7.25 pounds and measures 37 inches overall, with an adjustable synthetic pistol-grip stock that runs from 13.75 to 14.625 inches in length of pull. The Mossy Oak Obsession camouflage covers the gun, and the drilled-and-tapped receiver is ready for an optic. The included X-Factor ported turkey choke tube comes with the shotgun.

Idaho's hunting seasons listed for this state cover deer and elk, not turkey, so the useful detail here is the configuration. The vent-rib barrel and adjustable fiber-optic front sight give a clear line of sight for shot placement, and the ambidextrous manual safety can be worked by either hand. The 20-inch barrel balances well and handles easily in tight cover.
