This Mossberg 590 Shockwave is a 12 gauge pump-action shotgun in an FDE/Tan finish, with a 14-inch barrel, a 5+1 capacity and a 3-inch chamber. The bird's head grip and 26.5-inch overall length keep it compact, and the bead sight and manual safety come standard. It weighs 5.3 pounds, the frame is synthetic, and the listing is for a new gun. The design centers on a short, easy-to-carry pump in a single gauge.

In Idaho, deer and elk seasons are set by game management unit, so the unit you hunt decides the dates that apply. The 26.5-inch overall length and light weight describe a short, handy pump rather than a long-range hunting gun. Match the load to the unit rules you will be hunting under, and check the Idaho Fish and Game regulations for the current season before you head out.
